Core Feature
Velvet Crush analyzes six high-frequency bands relative to the overall signal level. When any band climbs too close to the full-band level - meaning it is standing out instead of sitting in - a peak correction pulls it back. The result is a high end that extends naturally without fatiguing, regardless of the source material.
Control
The Character switch defines how closely each high-frequency band is monitored before correction engages. Silk allows more headroom - a smooth, classic sound where the top end blooms before it is touched. Velvet is the calibrated center. Air tightens the thresholds across all six bands for a clean, controlled extension that stays out of the way. The Blend knob runs the full chain in parallel.
Metering
Dual analog-style VU meters give you a real-time read of input and output level with proper ballistics. When Velvet Crush is actively correcting a band, the pilot light engages - a direct visual confirmation that the processor caught something and acted. You see exactly when the high-frequency balance is being brought back into line.
