Five continuous knobs per channel, thick character that gets louder as it gets nastier, and dual VU meters to document your complete lack of restraint. Redline Valve is built for weight, not subtlety. Push the Input and the whole signal path leans into it - more body, more grit, more front. Bass, Midrange, and Treble reach into the material and pull out what was already there. Output sets where it lands.
This is not a clean, polite preamp. It has an opinion, and the opinion is louder and thicker. Drop it on a kick, a vocal, a stereo bus, and it immediately sounds like it came through something with a serial number stamped on the front. Two large VU needles - switchable between Input and Output - watch every decision you make.

Five Knobs

Input, Output, Bass, Midrange, and Treble - fully variable, immediately effective, and entirely your fault. Every control runs a wide, continuous range instead of a handful of fixed switch positions, so the tone lands exactly where you push it, not the nearest preset click.
Bass and Treble shape the top and bottom independently while Midrange handles the part of the spectrum most preamps forget exists. Dial in a little for polish, or push everything at once and let the circuit sort out the consequences.
- Input - Drives the whole circuit. More weight, more grit, more attitude.
- Bass / Midrange / Treble - Wide continuous shaping across the full spectrum.
- Output - Sets the final level and handles the diplomatic consequences.
Tube Character

Tube character with a suspiciously warm disposition. What happens inside the chassis stays inside the chassis - all you need to know is that pushing the Input builds weight and thickness that has nothing to do with a limiter or a compressor. It is circuit character, the kind that makes a track feel like it survived being recorded through actual iron and glass.
Thicker. Louder. Paperwork pending. Push the Input for weight, grit, and increasingly questionable judgment. Output handles the level so the character stays even when the meters start climbing.
The VU Meters
Two Needles. Input or Output. Your Call.
Two large VU meters sit front and center, and a single VU Source switch decides what they are watching - Input or Output, your call. Watch the Input meters to see exactly how hard you are pushing the circuit, or flip to Output to see where the track actually lands. In Dual-Stereo mode both channels read independently; in linked mode they move together. The ballistics are hand-calibrated against the printed dial art, fast enough to catch transients, slow enough to read like a real meter in a real room.
Session Controls

Military-surplus swagger, and the quiet confidence of equipment that outlived its inspection department. Link ties both channels together so every knob move applies to both sides at once - turn it off and each channel runs completely independently. Dual-Stereo switches between processing the pair as a linked stereo signal or as two fully independent mono channels.
Auto-Level keeps perceived loudness in check as you drive the Input harder, so you can hear what the circuit is actually doing instead of just hearing "louder" pretending to be "better." Power is exactly what it sounds like - full bypass when you need a clean A/B.
- Link - Both channels move together. Turn it off, they go their own way.
- Auto-Level - Keeps loudness honest while you drive the Input.
- Dual-Stereo - Linked stereo pair or two fully independent channels.

Load Redline Valve and you already have somewhere to start. Straight sets a clean, honest baseline. The Kyiv Connection and Voltage Is a Suggestion push into serious drive territory. Military Grade Misconduct and Cold War Hot Tubes go heavy on weight and grit. No User-Serviceable Parts is the one to reach for when you want maximum character with minimum hesitation.
Every preset is a real, usable starting position - not a gimmick. Load one, nudge the Input to taste, and trust your ears from there. Save your own presets and they travel with the plugin across every session.
