Upper Management is a high-frequency acceleration limiter built to deal with that specific bullshit, with fast parallel correction and enough monitoring to hear exactly what earned the disciplinary action.
The idea comes from vinyl mastering, where a cutting stylus has physical acceleration limits and excessive high-frequency energy can cause very real trouble. Upper Management brings that acceleration-limiting principle into your mix: isolate the highs, catch the peaks, and blend the correction back in. A permanently lowered treble shelf can take the air out of everything. This job calls for somebody who can identify the actual problem employee.

The Technique
A phase-coherent crossover isolates the band above your chosen frequency, adjustable from 1 kHz to 12 kHz. A fast peak limiter works on that high band while the low band stays out of the limiter entirely. Mix sets how much correction you blend back in. Harsh cymbals, sibilance, and brittle transients get attention where they need it. The bass department was never named in the complaint.
Threshold, Release & Knee
Adjust Release yourself, or engage Auto Release to derive recovery time from the amount of gain reduction that just occurred. Hard knee draws a firm line; Soft knee eases into the correction. The gain reduction meter reports exactly how much intervention is happening in the isolated high band - not the whole mix, just the part that earned it.
Three Management Styles
Stereo mode shares detection across both channels. Dual processes them independently, so trouble on the left doesn't automatically earn the right a written warning. Mid-Side encodes the signal into center and side components before processing, then decodes it back to stereo. Three ways to organize the work. Mercifully, none requires a team-building weekend.
Delta, Solo Band & Presets
Delta plays only what's being removed, letting you hear the evidence. Solo Band lets you monitor the isolated highs themselves, with or without limiting. If you're taking too much, you can hear it. If the offending splash is still running the meeting, you can hear that too. Your ears get the final say.
Ten fully editable, HR-themed factory presets cover gentle control through more assertive intervention. Load one, adjust it to the material, and get back to the mix.
