Northstar is a finishing console for your mix bus. Nine processing sections live in one window, in the order the signal moves through them, input trim on the far left, then the equalizer, low and high translation, three bus compressors, an HF limiter, saturation, stereo width, and a limiter that aims at a loudness target on the right, with the meters, a reference-track player and a spectrum display wrapped around all of it. Every section has its own power switch and its own light, so you can take anything out without touching anything else.
Nothing in it makes decisions for you. Every control is a real control, and when you first open it everything is switched on and set neutral, so nothing changes until you touch something. Put it last on your mix bus or master, feed it peaks around -6 dBFS, and start turning knobs, or load one of 28 factory presets and start from there. Windows, macOS and Linux, VST3 everywhere, AU on macOS.
