Hold Engage and one bass note starts to talk.
Hold Engage and a low frequency oscillator opens and closes a resonant filter in time with your project, so one held bass note turns into a wub, a half-time growl or a talking bass. Let go and the dry signal is back, with a 10 ms crossfade either way. The oscillator keeps running while you're not holding the button, so the wobble always comes back in time.
With Sync on, the wobble takes its phase from the host's own position, so every loop, bounce and replay wobbles exactly the same and lines up with the bar. Rate runs from a 1/2 note down to a 1/32 including triplets, or 0.1 to 20 Hz when it's free. Five shapes, Sine, Triangle, Saw Up, Saw Down and Square, and the saw and square edges are slewed so they never click.
Cutoff is where the filter sits closed and Depth is how far it opens above that, up to six octaves, and the movement is exponential so it sounds even across the range. Spread offsets the right channel's wobble from the left, up to 180 degrees, so the growl moves across the stereo field.
Hold It Down. Hear It Growl.
The demo runs the full plugin, every control and every preset. Nothing is heard until you hold Engage, so play a bass note or a synth line, hold the button and open Depth.
Try Loose Cannon FreeNo account required - we send the link to your email. Silences briefly every 30 seconds in demo mode. Nothing is heard until you hold Engage.
The Filter
Mode is Low Pass 12, Low Pass 24, Band Pass or High Pass, and Low Pass 24 is the default and the classic wub. Resonance runs from 0 to 100 percent, about Q 0.5 up to 14, and it stays stable at the top, loud signals are limited so it sings instead of blowing up. Drive follows the filter, from clean at zero to heavy saturation, and the Drive stage and the filter run at 2x oversampling.
The Wobble
Rate is how fast it wobbles, Shape is the curve it follows, Depth is how far it opens and Spread sends the right channel behind the left. Sync is Free or Synced, and when it's synced the Rate readout shows the note value, triplets included. Output trims by plus or minus 12 dB, and Power Off is a bit-exact bypass.
Watch It Work
Two LED strips, Left Filter and Right Filter, show where each side's cutoff is at this instant, from closed to open, so the wobble is something you can see and Spread shows up as one side trailing the other. The Rate and Cutoff readouts show the note value or Hz, and the stereo VU reads the output level.
Color and Presets
The Color knob changes the whole faceplate to any hue, fluorescent green by default, and it's a preference saved on your machine, not part of a preset or a session. Power Off turns the faceplate dark and passes the audio through untouched.
Ten factory presets plus Default are starting points, Classic Wub, Triplet Skip, Half Time Growl, Talking Bass, Fast Flutter, Wide Wobble, Slow Rise, Square Chop, Pump Filter and Rubber Band, and A/B, Save, Save As, Copy, Delete, Import and Export handle your own. The window resizes and remembers its size.
