Left, Right, Mid and Side. All at Once.

Four complete compressors, one window, no modes.

Compressors usually make you choose a view of the stereo field. Due Process doesn't. Channel 1 and Channel 2 work on the left and right, then the signal splits into mid and side, the Mid and Side rows work on the center and on the difference between the channels, and everything goes back together. Every row is a complete compressor with its own Type, Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Makeup, Mix and Output. We looked for a compressor that did this. We couldn't find one, so we built it.

Calm the vocal in the center with a fast FET. Smooth the room and the cymbals on the sides with an Opto. Glue the left and right with a Vari-Mu. Then trim and rebalance every row until it feels right, and let Auto-Level keep the loudness honest while you do it.

VU meter

Four Meters. Four Compressors. One Window.

The demo runs the full plugin, every row, every type, Saturation and Oversampling. Watch the four gain-reduction meters and hear what each row is doing, then hit Delta to hear only what the compression is removing.

Four Rows. Four Characters.

Pick a Character for Every Row.

Every row has a Type switch: FET, Opto, Vari-Mu or VCA. FET is fast, with peak detection and a firm knee. Opto is smooth, with a release that depends on how much compression has been happening. VCA is precise and does what the ratio says. Vari-Mu is the glue, with a ratio that rises as the signal pushes harder, up to the ratio you set. The controls never move when you change the type.

  • Four types - FET, Opto, Vari-Mu and VCA, chosen row by row
  • Threshold - 0 to −40 dB
  • Ratio - 1.1:1 to 10:1
  • Attack and Release - 0.1 to 100 ms and 10 ms to 2 s
  • Sidechain high-pass - 20 to 400 Hz on every row

Squeeze It. Then Remix It.

Rebalance After the Compression.

Compression changes how the center and the sides feel against each other, and that is where Due Process gives you control. Every row has its own Input, so you decide how hard that row is hit. Makeup lifts or lowers the compressed signal, Mix blends it with the original for parallel compression, and Output trims the whole row. Auto-Level, a switch on every row, keeps the loudness matched to what went into the row, Input boost included, so you are judging the compression and not the volume.

  • Input and Output - ±12 dB on every row
  • Makeup - ±12 dB on the compressed signal, before Mix
  • Mix - 0 to 100 percent, parallel compression on any row
  • Auto-Level - A slow, level-matched gain so the row keeps its loudness

Nothing Hidden

See It. Hear It. Trust It.

Every row has its own gain-reduction meter, so all four compressors are visible at once. Delta plays only what the compression is removing. Link ties Channel 1 and Channel 2 together, every setting, and makes them share one detector so the stereo image holds still, while Mid and Side stay independent. Two large VU meters show In, Out or M-S, the Mid and Side level of your output.

  • Gain-reduction meters - One on every row
  • Delta - Hear only what the compression removes
  • Link - Channel 1 and 2 move together and share a detector
  • Meters - In, Out or M-S on the two large VUs

Saturation and Oversampling

Warm Color You Can Switch Off Completely.

One warm, level-matched Saturation knob, and at zero it is off. It works when Oversampling is on, 2x, 4x or 8x, and the compressors and the saturation run at that higher rate together, with a fixed latency your DAW compensates for. Set Oversampling to Off and it is a pure compressor with no latency at all. With nothing engaged, the audio passes through untouched at every setting.

Fourteen factory presets are starting points, gentle on purpose, and A/B, Save, Save As, Copy, Delete, Import and Export handle your own. The window resizes and remembers its size.
