Classic Tracks: Todd Rundgren’s “Hello It’s Me”
Todd Rundgren was pretty much flying by the seat of his pants when he recorded “Hello It’s Me” in 1972.

Dualtronix is a dual-channel opto leveling amplifier built around the simple, primitive control set that's made this style of hardware sound amazing for decades - Gain and Peak Reduction, nothing to overthink.
Turn Up Gain and Peak Reduction. That's the Whole Decision.
No ratio numbers to memorize, no attack/release times to fight with - just the classic program-dependent glow, the way opto leveling has always worked.

Two Independent Channels
Two genuinely independent channels, each channel has its own Power switch and its own Meter, so you can bypass or re-meter one side without touching the other. Link ties both channels' entire control set together for classic two-bus glue, or turn it off and run two completely different characters side by side - one gentle, one driven hard, in the same unit.
Auto Level
Auto Level is there because it's genuinely smooth in this application. Engage it and the "louder always sounds better" illusion still goes away, and what's left is some character from the reduction, definitely not a volume bump doing the convincing - it's light enough that it's genuinely useful in a broadcast sense, where you want the smoothing without an overt personality fight. It's not the most dramatic way to run this thing, but it turns out a lot of sessions call for exactly that: a light touch, cleanly delivered.
Comp / Limit
A genuine Comp/Limit switch changes the character, not just the number - Compress for a light touch, Limit for a hard, opto-driven wall when a bus needs to behave.
