The attack is slowed down specifically so the pluck or pick transient survives instead of getting squashed on the way in - no sidechain high-pass either, since on a bass bus you want the low end itself driving the gain reduction. Threshold is the only knob; everything else is locked to the bass-tuned character.
Fat, Not Boomy
Weight pairs a low shelf boost with a tight high-pass just below it, so the extra low end adds fullness without piling up into boom. Growl runs saturation on the mids only, so the character cuts through on small speakers and phone audio instead of disappearing under the fundamental.
